The Italian Job
(1969) is an iconic comedy gold heist set in Turin.
How do you steel $4 million in gold bullion in the middle of a traffic jam and
under the noses of the Italian police and the Mafia?
The answer
includes 3 mini coopers, a
few good drivers, an excellent leader, a traffic computer hacker and a lot of luck.
Charlie Croker (Michael Caine) has the whole caper planned with military
precision and takes us on a whirlwind tour of Turin which is off the usual
tourist route.
Another film with the name The Italian Job was made in 2003 but it is not a follow up or a remake.
It uses the same names of characters and three minis but the storyline is completely different although it is still a great film.
